Ann Carroll

A lifelong Wilmingtonian, Ann has dedicated more than four decades to serving children through Christian and public education. She began her educational journey in 1984 at Living Waters Christian Preschool before serving as a substitute teacher in New Hanover County Schools, where she gained valuable experience working with students in every grade level from Pre-K through 12th grade.

After earning her degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Ann began her classroom teaching career with a year of fifth grade at Blair Elementary School. She then joined Pine Valley Elementary, where she spent eight years teaching Kindergarten and another sixteen years teaching First Grade.

Throughout her career, she developed a love for helping young learners build a strong academic foundation while growing in confidence and a love for learning. After more than 30 years as a classroom teacher, Ann retired from New Hanover County Schools in July 2025.

Following her retirement, Ann joined the Northside School of Christian Leadership family as a substitute teacher and quickly became a familiar face in classrooms across every grade level. She also enjoyed serving students in the after-school program, where she appreciated the opportunity to build relationships with children and their families.

Ann is excited to return to Northside for the 2026–2027 school year as the TK 4yr old Preschool Assistant. She looks forward to helping her students develop a love for learning while partnering with families to provide a strong academic and Christ-centered foundation during these important early years.
