Rick Hammock

Rick Hammock is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, where he spent the first 62 years of his life. In 2019, he and his wife, Vicki, relocated to Wilmington to be near their two children, David (40) and Alex (36), as well as their two grandchildren, Nathan (7) and Walker (2). He has been married to his wonderful wife for 45 years.

He attended Georgia Tech and Georgia State, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He has used this degree to teach a wide range of subjects in both private and public schools for the past 32 years.

Throughout that time, he has coached predominantly basketball, football, and baseball. He has been blessed to mentor athletes who have gone on to play in the NFL, NBA, and WNBA.

Before his teaching career, he worked as a newspaper writer and editor, a clerk at the U.S. Postal Service, and a team member at In Touch Ministries.

Rick considers it an extreme honor and blessing to be a part of the NSCL family.
